"piractwo IP" to śmiertelne zagrożenie

Amerykański Departament Sprawiedliwości opublikował raport na temat reformy systemu prawa autorskiego. Prokurator generalny John Ashcroft stwierdził na konferencji prasowej, że
Department jest przygotowany rozpocząć największe i najbardziej agresywne w historii naszego kraju natarcie na przestępstwa przeciw własności intelektualnej.
Departament tym samym poparł dwa kontrowersyjne akty: INDUCE Act (o którym już pisaliśmy, a ktoś w komentarzu stwierdził, że to “oczywista bzdura”) oraz kryminalizujący pasywne korzystanie z sieci p2p PDEA Act.
Nowe plany departamentu poparły organizacje RIAA i MPAA, ta ostatnia dziękując departamentowi za “ochronę naszej krajowej gospodarki przed śmiertelną groźbą piractwa własności intelektualnej”.

Tymczasem INDUCE Act został zatrzymany (na razie), w amerykańskim Senacie, a wielkie korporacje odwołały się od decyzji MGM v. Grokster, w której sąd uznał, że właściciele sieci p2p nie ponoszą częściowej odpowiedzialności za nielegalne działalności prowadzone z ich pomocą.

W Wielkiej Brytanii zarekwirowano, bez uzasadnienia, serwery indymedia.org. W akcji uczestniczą władze USA, UK, Szwajcarii i Włoch,. Włoskie władze ogłosiły, że dochodzenie dotyczy potencjalnych związków Indymedia z “globalnym terroryzmem”.

Jednym słowem nie jest najlepiej, a to tylko skandalicznie okrojony wybór wątków i wiadomości.
(A na froncie domowym spamerzy ciągle nas atakują, jakby tego wszystkiego było mało).
