Polska doczekała się własnej wersji billboardowej partyzantki. Idea jest prosta: poprzez przerabianie reklamowych billboardów działacze starają się zakłócić ich przekaz, wprowadzając wywrotowe znaczenia. W 1977 roku w San Fransisco rozpoczął działalność Billboard Liberation Front, zaczynając od przeróbki billboardów z reklamami papierosów.
Billboardowa partyzantka mieści się w ramach tego, co Umberto Eco nazwał "semiotyczną partyzantką", wyobrażając sobie, że "Wszechświat Technologicznej Komunikacji byłby patrolowany przez grupy komunikacyjnych partyzantów, którzy przywracaliby biernemu odbiorowi wymiar krytyczny". Więcej na ten temat można przeczytać w tekście Marka Dery'ego pt. "Culture Jamming: Hacking, Slashing and Sniping in the Empire of Signs", z którego pochodzi cytat.
Tak więc polsy partyzanci zabrali się do roboty, doklejając w niedzielę 16 listopada napisy "i chuj" na billboardach w całej Polsce. Akcja na pewno przyciąga uwagę - na razie oburzonych przechodniów oraz trójmiejskiego wydania Gazety Wyborczej, w którym czytamy:
Mieszkańców kilku dużych miast w Polsce zaskakuje od kilku dni "nowa jakość" reklam zamieszczanych na billboardach. Reklamowane produkty bywają opatrzone nieeleganckim zwrotem "i ch..."
Napis pojawia się obok ubrań, gazet i samochodów. Teksty z billboardów po przeróbkach brzmią np.: "Fakt wychodzi na światło dzienne i ch...", "50 najdroższych samochodów świata i i ch...", "TVP 3 patrzy w twoją stronę i ch...".
Jednak "i ch..." nie jest elementem kampanii promocyjnych. Plakaty z tymi słowami są doklejane przez anonimowe osoby, które protestują w ten sposób przeciw reklamie zewnętrznej, a właściwie przeciw ekspansywnej formie tej reklamy. Określają swoje działanie jako "ch...wą anonimową akcję o kryptonimie «i ch... »".
Culture jamming wydawało mi się zawsze ciekawym zjawiskiem, które korzeniami sięga, jak widać, czasów wcześniejszych niż era internetu, ale które szybko zadomowiło się w nowym medium, które doskonale nadaje się do zarówno wirtualnych akcji tego typu, jak i do rozprzestrzeniania informacji o akcjach prowadzonych offline.
W przypadku akcji polskiej nie podoba mi się jej toporność. Zazwyczaj przeróbki billboardów były wykonywane tak, żeby niepostrzeżenie przerobić hasło, np. dostosowując czcionkę do wcześniejszego designu reklamy - przechodzień / pasażer widział normalną reklamę, po chwili orientował się, że jej przekaz jest nietypowy. Z napięcia między zakłóconym przekazem, a podobieństwem do oryginalnej reklamy miała płynąć moc medialnej partyzantki.
W polskim przypadku naklejany jest standardowy napis "i chuj", napisany modną czcionką i udostępniony nawet na licencji Creative Commons!
Niestety, przykład "i chuj" dobrze pokazuje meandry powszechnego, amatorskiego poruszania się w reżimie praw autorskich. Zawsze wydawało mi się, że łatwo się w tym wszystkim pogubić - i oto mamy na to przykład. Na plskiej stronie Indymedia działacze zamieszczają informację, w której tłumaczą cel akcji, pisząc m.in. że wykorzystują czcionkę, której autor jest nieznany. Z pomocą Google'a łatwo odkryć, że autor jest jednak znany, na szczęście udostępnia czcionkę jako freeware.
Napisy są naklejane byle jak na billboardy i nijak nie zlewają się z ich przekazem. Jako całość, prerobione dzieło ma swojsko chamski i brutalnie bezpośredni przekaz. I to chyba wyróżnia polską wersję medialnej partyzantki, której jak dla mnie brak gustu i polotu.
